Dangerous driving fines

The largest single group in the schedule, and the one where the impound and black-point columns do most of the work. Every row here is shown with all three consequences together.

What the law does not say

Three different row shapes live in this category

One row here prices two lettered sub-parts as genuinely separate tariffs — different fine and different points per sub-part, sharing a single merged impound cell — so it appears as two rows carrying one annex number. Two further rows split their fine and points by vehicle class rather than by sub-part, and they are the only rows in the whole schedule that do; they too appear once per class. And for the most serious offences, the annex prices the heavy-vehicle version as a separate row whose consequence is a licence suspension rather than a vehicle impound at all — a different consequence in kind, stated explicitly by the schedule, not a gap in it.

Every description here is our own English gloss

The federal schedule is written in Arabic, and this site does not publish an official or certified translation of it. The description column is our own plain-terms gloss of what each row covers, marked as one on every row; 16 of 122 of them are the wording the rate payload itself carries and the rest are written for this site. The figures beside them — the fine, the black points, the impound period — are the language-independent facts, and they are what the citation under this table is a citation to. Where a gloss and your notice disagree, the notice is the document that binds.

Background

Where the schedule is at its heaviest

This is the group where the three columns stop moving together. Elsewhere in the schedule a larger fine generally comes with more points and a longer impound; here the annex prices some conduct with the full stack and other conduct with a court-determined fine and no stated amount at all, because it has referred the amount to a court. Those rows read as court-determined on this site. They are not blanks awaiting a figure and they are not zero.

Several rows in this category also sit alongside a criminal article in the traffic decree-law covering the same conduct — causing a death, fleeing the scene of an accident, driving on a suspended licence. Those are parallel tracks rather than one rule stated twice: the schedule row is the administrative consequence (points, impound, a fine the court sets), and the decree-law article carries its own imprisonment and fine band. This site does not present them as alternatives or as duplicates of each other.

The impound periods in this category are also where the unresolved heavy-vehicle question bites hardest, and it is stated as a finding on the impound calculator rather than resolved quietly here.

Where these figures stand

Draft for review. Every figure on this site is transcribed from a named primary instrument and carries its citation, but none has been signed off by a reviewer of record yet — and a very recent amendment may not be reflected. Where the law itself is unresolved, this site says so rather than choosing an answer. The binding amount is the one on your own notice.

Every figure carries its instrument, its article or annex row, and its effective period.
